This restaurant is practically a hole in the wall. I just wanted to eat my ox tail stew and this place came up on my yelp. It's near the Barberini stop on Metro A.
The server was pretty new but really helpful. If he doesn't have information on the dish, he'd find someone who has so the customer can make an informed decision.
I had the oxtail stew and my mom the grilled salmon. We also ordered the risotto which is by far the best I've ever tasted in this city. The risotto was evenly cooked. They added some root crop which complemented the dish. The grilled salmon was tender on the inside but not undercooked. It was my first time tasting the ox stew and I'm not sure if this one is the best but it is definitely worth the trek. For dessert, we had the Catalan cream which is similar to the creme brûlée. The sugar was a bit burnt but it's still good. I'm coming back when in Rome. -

This is the best place we ate in Rome and should have eaten here at least once more. We showed up around 830pm without a reservation and we're quickly seated. The service was very attentive and professional. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious.
We had the Italian appetizer, truffle pasta, veal, and a few more I can't remember. This is as authentic and delicious as it will get in Rome. A true Italian fine dining experience that is reasonably priced. -

After a couple disappointing meals, Piccolo Arancio was a breath of fresh air. A friend recommended that I tried this place because of their truffle pasta, which I ordered.
First of all, this gem of a place is hidden on a little side street. On the main street, there are signs to direct you in the right direction. The restaurant is very small and intimate, about 10ish tables. we went right when dinnertime started and we were able to be seated immediately. We also got some complimentary champagne to start.
I got the truffle pasta, which started this whole journey, and oh my goodness it was heavenly. I thought the flavor was well balanced, properly seasoned, and probably one of the best meals I had.
I and my group were craving another Florentine steak which we also ordered. I think the Florentine steak here was a little overdone and could have done a little more with the flavor. I would have to say that part was just okay.
Anyway, come for the truffle pasta, it's the true star of the show. -

Amazing place! Don't be discouraged if you see tourists here because the food is amazing! It's not very touristy and the staff is super friendly. Got a bottle of wine, they give you Prosecco at the table to begin, spaghetti w vongole and the carbonara. Had the Roman artichoke, the steamed one not fried, for appetizer and panda cotta for dessert. Everything was excellent! Would definitely recommend. Was the best vongole I had in my time in Rome.
